Sherd of Bartmann jug with Julich-Cleve-Berg arms

A sherd of Frechen stoneware vessel (also known as Bellarmine or Bartmann jug), dating to c. 1550-1609. The medallion shows the arms of Julich-Cleve-Berg, a confederation of small states in the Holy Roman Empire. A more complete vessel with the same arms was excavated from Jamestown, Virginia.
