Clay tobacco pipe with CORK mark

A clay tobacco pipe bowl with stem marked CORK on both sides, dated by David Atkinson to 1870-1914. He writes: ‘These and similar types are common, also with DERRY and DUBLIN. Pipes probably for Irish labourers.

This was one of the first objects I picked up from the Thames foreshore and was found by my elder daughter, then aged four.
