R. B. Byass Mooring Buoy

Mooring buoy of Robert Blake Byass dated 1861. Byass was an English wine importer who in 1835 partnered with Spanish sherry producer Manuel María González, leading to the establishment of the iconic González Byass drinks company.

This buoy was first discovered embedded in the foreshore by mudlark Alan Murphy. In 2025 it was released from the mud due to erosion and removed from the river by the Port of London Authority.
