A copper-alloy badge in the form of an elephant above a banner reading FREMLINS ALE. There are remains of red enameling on the elephant’s ceremonial blanket. 1950s or 1960s.

Fremlin’s was a brewery in Maidstone, Kent. It was established by Ralph Fremlin in 1861, who eschewed the pub trade and focused on bottled beer, on religious grounds. The elephant represents his family’s connections to the East India Company (source: Wikipedia).
